Mental Health

Evidence-based, recovery-oriented care for the full spectrum of mental health — delivered with clinical excellence and genuine compassion.

Are you carrying something that has been with you for too long? Have you tried different providers, programs, or medications — only to find yourself still struggling, still searching, still hoping that somewhere there is a level of care that actually meets you where you are?

Or perhaps you are a family member who has done everything you know how to do — researched, advocated, supported, and shown up — and still found yourself feeling powerless in the face of a loved one’s pain. That exhaustion is real. And it deserves acknowledgment.

Scholar’s mental health program was built for exactly these moments. For the individual who has not yet found the right fit. For the family that needs a partner as much as a provider. For anyone who believes — even quietly, even uncertainly — that something better is possible.

"You do not have to have it all figured out to begin. You simply have to be willing to take one step. Scholar will meet you there."

Our Approach

Mental health care at Scholar is not a one-size-fits-all process. It is a deeply individualized, evidence-based, and recovery-oriented journey — tailored to your specific clinical needs, your personal goals, and the life you are working toward. Every treatment plan is developed collaboratively with you — not for you — and evolves as you do.

Scholar’s practitioners draw from the most current and rigorously validated approaches in behavioral health science. Our work is grounded in best practices, informed by ongoing clinical assessment, and guided at every step by a genuine commitment to your well-being and your autonomy in your own care.

"Recovery is not a destination. It is a direction. Scholar will walk every step of that direction with you."

Treatment Options

Scholar offers two primary treatment formats — each designed to serve different clinical needs, schedules, and goals. Your Scholar practitioner will work with you to determine which format — or combination of formats — is most appropriate for your situation.

Time-Limited Therapy

Focused, structured support with clear goals and defined outcomes

Time-limited therapy provides consistent, weekly support within a structured framework — ideal for individuals seeking focused care for a specific concern, those navigating a defined life challenge or transition, or those who prefer a clear therapeutic roadmap with measurable goals.

✔  Sessions are typically 60 minutes in duration

✔  Offered on a weekly basis

✔  Goal-directed and outcome-focused

✔  Available for individuals, couples, and families

✔  Ideal for a wide range of mental health concerns at mild to moderate levels of severity

Intensive Therapy

Deeper, more frequent support for accelerated progress and complex needs

Intensive therapy provides a higher frequency and duration of care — designed for individuals with more complex or persistent mental health needs, those who have not responded to standard treatment frequency, or those seeking more rapid and sustained progress toward their goals.

✔  Sessions can be up to 3 hours in duration

✔  Available more frequently than once per week

✔  Designed for complex, persistent, or treatment-resistant presentations

✔  Allows for deeper therapeutic work and accelerated progress

✔  Available for individuals, couples, and families

✔  Developed collaboratively based on clinical assessment and your specific goals

Evidence-Based Treatment Modalities

Scholar’s practitioners are trained in a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches — each selected and applied based on your specific clinical presentation, diagnosis, and goals. Treatment at Scholar is never generic. It is always grounded in what the evidence shows works — and what works for you specifically.

•  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — A structured, goal-oriented approach that addresses the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors — one of the most extensively researched and effective therapies for depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and a wide range of other conditions.

•  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — A mindfulness-based behavioral therapy that helps individuals develop psychological flexibility — learning to accept difficult thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them, and committing to values-based action despite discomfort.

•  Motivational Interviewing (MI) — A collaborative, person-centered approach that strengthens an individual’s own motivation and commitment to change — particularly effective for ambivalence about treatment, behavioral change, and co-occurring substance use concerns.

•  Psychodynamic Therapy (PDT) — An exploratory approach that examines how unconscious processes, early experiences, and relational patterns shape current thoughts, feelings, and behavior — particularly effective for personality disorders, complex trauma, and longstanding emotional difficulties.

•  Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) — A future-oriented, strengths-based approach that focuses on identifying and building solutions rather than analyzing problems — effective for a wide range of concerns and particularly well-suited to time-limited treatment formats.

•  Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) — An evidence-based treatment specifically designed to address the impact of trauma on children, adolescents, and their families — combining trauma-sensitive interventions with cognitive behavioral principles.

•  Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) — An integrative approach that combines cognitive therapy with mindfulness practices — particularly effective for recurrent depression, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation.
